It’s that time of the year – as we approach the Thanksgiving weekend, it means some bargains are to be had
It’s about to get silly
Black Friday has rapidly caught on here in the UK. And why not. There are great savings to be had.
I am certain that applies across all sectors, but for us interested in Apple gear, the same applies. I’ve spent ages trawling the web to find you some corking deals – well, for my UK readers at least!
Close to home
The first place to check out is the event page at Apple. Although Apple prides themselves on not getting involved in the discounting game, there are some pretty reasonable offers to be had direct from their website. The event will run from Friday 25th November – Monday 28th November, with offers to suit all budgets.
Their Black Friday discounts are executed in a very Apple’esque way. Rather than discounting the devices, you’ll get a gift card. If you buy an iPhone 13, 13 mini, 12, or iPhone SE, for example, you’ll receive a £50 card.
AirPods from Apple look to be a great Black Friday deal. You can get up to £75 back when buying 2nd gen AirPods Pro, with offers also available on 2nd or 3rd gen AirPods, and even AirPods Max.
A £50 gift card could be yours if buying an Apple Watch SE. That is a great watch to buy someone as their first Apple Watch. It is bang up-to-date, and offers most of the functionality of an Apple Watch 8. From £259 and a £50 gift card back…looks to be a stunning offer.
Other Black Friday event offers from Apple include £50 gift cards on qualifying iPads, accessories, and Beats devices. There is also a whopping £250 coming back your way when buying Mac’s, including the stunning MacBook Air.
iPhone & iPad
I have spotted some other iPhone deals too. The best deal I could find for you on an iPhone 13 was either £735 at Amazon, or £749 at Argos & ao.com. Argos also had a good offer on a 64GB iPhone 12 mini – just £528.
John Lewis have waded in with a pretty decent iPad mini offer. A 2021 64GB Wi-Fi iPad in space grey can be had here for £459 (originally £619). The same price is available at Amazon and Curry’s too.
If you visit krcs.co.uk, there are some healthy savings on Mac across the entire range. Their offer runs through until Monday 5th December. You’ll save 12% on Mac mini, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air. There are 10% savings to be had on Mac Studio, Pro Display XDR or Studio Display, or iMac.
At Select, I have spotted an M1 MacBook Air with a £100 saving and a free, three-year extended warranty, Mac training and support as well.
Amazon, of course, have some stunning offers – like a 2020 5K 27-inch iMac with a £300 saving. It is only £1909, for a serious bit of kit.
I have managed to find some decent savings on various models of Apple Watch. Visiting Very (where I got my Studio Display from), I found a 45mm Series 8, Stainless Steel, GPS & Cellular model with a £50 saving (now only £779).
A Series 7, 41mm aluminium Apple Watch is on offer at Currys over the Black Friday weekend for £309 (was £359).
AirPods & audio
Argos has a pair of 2nd gen AirPods available for only £119, which is a saving of £20 on a great pair of AirPods. The same offer is available at Curry’s as well. They have a fantastic Beats offer as well…a saving of over £100 on Beats Studio 3 ANC headphones. Currys are also offering a whole six months of Apple TV+ streaming for free on purchases made before 29th November.
Back at Amazon, there is a genuine iPhone 13 Apple Silicon case available for only £29.99. Apple’s cases are still the best in my opinion for fit and feel, so getting one of those as a filler with £20 off looks good to me.
And, if you want to keep tabs on your tech, I found a small saving to be made on Air Tags. Amazon has those on sale for £29, which is a saving of £6.
Hard as I try, I couldn’t find any seriously good offers on Apple TV 4K, which surprised me. With the latest version just released, I felt sure that there would be some cracking Black Friday deals going on last years, original 4K Apple TV. I guess it must be popular then!
As we nosedive towards the weekend, hopefully this Black Friday guide will serve useful to you. Whether you are looking for a new bit of tech for yourself, or a present for the family over this holiday season, there are some interesting offers to be had.
